Last week is one the Southern Miss men's basketball team would likely wish to forget. The Golden Eagles lost two games in a row for the first time this season and fell into a tie for fourth place in Conference USA. However, head coach Donnie Tyndall says that's the nature of the business, and you just have to keep your head up. "You can't get too low in this business, and you certainly can't feel sorry for yourself", Tyndall said. "You've got to keep plugging and stay the course and stay true to what you believe in."
Both of the Golden Eagles most recent loses came on the road at UAB and Middle Tennessee, but this week the black and gold return home to face Texas-San Antonio. After a tough stretch on the road, Southern Miss is glad to return to its home floor. "Only eight teams in America have more road wins than we do, so that's pretty strong. But on the flip side, it was a rough week and it will be nice to get back home and play in front of our home crowd", Tyndall said.
Another blow the Golden Eagles took in the loss to Middle Tennessee was an injury to their second leading scorer, senior forward Michael Craig. Coach Tyndall says Craig has a mild high ankle sprain and is day-to-day.
