A local tractor equipment store has a message for thieves and those who may be unknowingly buying stolen property.

Capital Tractor has been hit not once but twice in the last year.

Most recently, at 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 9 thieves stole thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

"Three zero-turn mowers and three RTVs, Kubota equipment and it totaled about $72,000 our cost, which is a pretty big hit for us," said Capital Tractor co-owner Don Greer.

Here is a list of some of the equipment that was taken with serial numbers:

1. KUBOTA ATV RTV-1140CPX-H  S/N14089

2. KUBOTA ATV RTV-X900RL-A  S/N 10487

3. KUBOTA ATV RTV-X1120DRL-HS  S/N 12079

4. KUBOTA ATV ZD331LP-72  S/N 40553

5. KUBOTA ATV ZD33LP-60  S/N 33208

6. KUBOTA ATV ZG227A-54  S/N 52911

Owners say it took a matter of seconds for the thieves to hop on, use a generic key and take off.

"They break through and load it up on trailers where they are not being filmed. It's in high demand and so I guess it would be easy to get rid of. If someone approaches you and said hey I got a good deal for you. It might send up a red flag. Check it out, maybe call the authorities or someone who handles that product and ask is it a good deal or is something fishy going on," Greer said.

Greer says the business just got hit in August. But thankfully with the help of police the $65,000 item was recovered.

A suspect has been charged in that case and now police need your help finding the recent thieves.

If you can help, identify these thieves please call Crimestoppers at 215-STOP.

Businesses with questions or concerns about security are encouraged to call the community policing bureau of the Montgomery Police Department at 334-625-4800 and request a business security assessment.

An officer will come to the business and do an assessment then make recommendations on how to improve security.
