TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

A non-profit group in Tyler is opening a coffee shop/ministry.

"Refuge of Light" will be opening "Grounds for Justice" in the 2300 block of Fifth Street on Friday, February 14th.

All of the proceeds will be used to build a safe home for girls who have been rescued from sex trafficking in East Texas.

"Here in East Texas we sadly know that there are many young girls that are being trafficked," said executive director Norma Mullican. "The name of the shop has so much meaning because that's what we do. We fight for justice for young girls who have been trafficked."

The coffee shop also includes a training lab.

"Our training takes about three hours and they'll be able to learn all there is know about domestic minor sex trafficking and how to get involved," Mullican said. "The coffee shop will be a place for people to come in, learn what's going on, become aware of the situation, and get involved."

Not only will coffee, tea, and sweets be sold. Customers can also go shopping inside.

"It gives them something else to do when they come in. There's different vendors that rent out space in here. We still have three spots vacant," Mullican said.

The coffee shop will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
