Pine Belt offers several Valentines Day ideas

PETAL, MS (WDAM) -

Valentines Day is busy for lovers throughout the Pine belt, leaving them searching for gift ideas.

Jewelry Sales are a sure bet for a go-to gift, according to Christina Hatch at Carter's Jewelry.

"It's been really bust so far, this year and we always have really good sales because we gave really loyal customers around the area," said Hatch. "We enjoy meeting and greeting new customers and we're really excited that we're starting to carry more brands that people are really wanting."

Another hot item for Valentines is flowers. Garden Gate in Petal said their sales triple on Valentines Day.

"Last night I got about four hours of sleep," said Jeanne Barker. " A lot of times, the guys come in and they don't know what they want, so it takes us a little while to figure that out."

Barker said February 14th is a rewarding time of year.

"It's a lot of fun, people get excited when we deliver, ya know? And they love the flowers. You can't ever go wrong with flowers."

Although E-cards are popular way to show love, There is still hope for those who relish in receiving a hand-written card.

USA Today reports that 145 million valentine cards were purchased last year.
