Pritchett FD hosting fundraiser Saturday for needed operations money

PRITCHETT, TX (KLTV) -

The Pritchett Volunteer Fire Department has made plans for a fundraiser for much-needed money for operations.

Fire Chief Bill Fell said that with the expense of fire truck payments, fuel costs, and other operating costs, community fundraisers are vital to keep the fire department running.

The fundraiser will take place Saturday, February 22, at 5 p.m. There will be a lot to enjoy for everyone attending, including a barbecue dinner catered by Longhorn Smokehouse, Smokey Bear from the Texas A&M Forest Service, and a K-9 demonstration by the Upshur County Sheriff's Department.

ETMC Air One will also land, which will be exciting for kids. There will be an auction of cakes and merchandise from local businesses, and door prizes, as well. This year's auctioneer will be Sheriff Anthony Betterton.

A $10 donation per adult and $5 per child donation 12 and under at the door is greatly appreciated.

The fire department is located at 1118 FM 1404, one block south of Hwy 155 in Pritchett. This is six miles from Gilmer and seven miles from Big Sandy.

If you need more information, call 903-504-0547.

Chief Fell says the department appreciate the community's support for this event each year.
