(WMC-TV) - Falling tree limbs made roadways along Shelby Forest State Park impossible to pass through Tuesday night. One tree covered Walsh Road for hours.

"This tree fell down about 20 [minutes] after 3 p.m., and it's knocked out the power, you know, the store and houses all through here," said Shelby Forest resident Linda Shaver.

Shaver is concerned after the mature tree pulled down power lines.

"The more ice, the more limbs going down. There's a lot of limbs down these roads back here in the forest, and they'll be blocking a lot of people," she said.

Shaver called MLGW and the fire dept to remove the downed power lines fearing they might still be active.

Not far away from her home, TDOT workers had their hands full clearing trees that had fallen onto the highway.

"I'm actually skeptical about even staying here to be honest with you, 'cause I've got trees all behind the house," said resident Kieran Brcok.

Brock says he sent his wife to her mother's home for safety. He says as the ice weighs the trees down he fears another one may fall.

"[One tree] wasn't leaning like this before so I don't even know, if I'm going to stay here honestly," he said.

The broken tree caused delays as crews work in the storm to clear the road.
