A portion of southbound Interstate 29 in St. Joseph is closed after a tanker truck overturned early Tuesday morning.
It happened about 4 a.m. Tuesday just north of Highway 36 on the city's east side.
Only the southbound lanes are closed. All northbound lanes are open.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says the driver of the tanker truck was not injured when he lost control and ran off the road.
The tanker truck, which is carrying ethanol, landed on its side after the accident. The ethanol has to be removed from the tanker before it can be uprighted.
