Group looks to establish medical grade cannabis industry in Illinois
CHICAGO, Feb. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Green Rush Consulting announced today that their team of professional medical marijuana consultants is hosting a series of meetings with prospective business clients, the media, and elected officials from February 11th – 18th in downtown Chicago.
Finalized Illinois MMJ regulations are expected as soon as April 2014, with a state Request For Proposal (RFP) to follow. Marijuana businesses are expected to become operational within 4-12 months thereafter. Illinois expects to permit up to 60 dispensaries, and 22 cultivation centers, (1 per legislative or police district). Illinois is establishing a separated licensing system that has not been done in other states. Traditionally cultivation and dispensing were vertically integrated.
According to Green Rush Consulting (GRC) founder and CEO Zeta Ceti, "The medical marijuana industry is evolving quickly and business applicants in a state like Illinois will have a very competitive licensing process with strict regulations. However, we believe this program will help usher a more professionally administered approach to medical marijuana of which the future tax revenue, job creation, and access to the medicine will have a positive economic impact on Illinois over the long-term."
So far, Green Rush Consulting has been flooded with calls for months from potential applicants who are seeking industry knowledge and representation. "The overall enthusiasm coming from the state of Illinois is very exciting," said Ceti.
John Tasker, GRC's Dispensary Operations Specialist, also agrees with this future outlook of how the medical marijuana industry will be in Illinois. "These meetings will be a great opportunity to directly interact with hopeful license applicants and other important state officials. There are a number of issues to be addressed, and the best way is to engage these issues is directly and efficiently," said Tasker.
Green Rush Consulting was founded in January 2013 in Oakland, CA by 20 year MMJ specialist and industry pioneer Zeta Ceti. GRC specializes in providing medical marijuana dispensary license application development and ongoing operational assistance to marijuana dispensary and / or marijuana cultivation centers across the USA and Canada. Their goal is to "help create and facilitate a medical grade Cannabis industry, centered on professional cultivation and dispensing of the highest quality cannabis."
Business venture hopefuls, community or state representatives, and members of the press are encouraged to contact Green Rush Consulting Group to learn more, and to reserve a meeting space on the calendar.
