Southern Miss baseball holds practice at "The Rock"

Due to the ice on the field at Pete Taylor Park, the Southern Miss baseball team was forced to move practice to a venue normally reserved for football games.

Outfielders remained in the batting cages, but infielders, pitchers and catchers ran drills at M. M. Roberts Stadium.

"The Rock" isn't slowing the team down in their preparation for the season opener against Stony Brook, February 14, but head coach Scott Berry feels his team is playing catch-up.

"I think we're a little behind now just because the snow days. We're gonna have to try and catch up with those in a two-week time period," Berry said before practice.

When it's all said and done, if you ask every one of those guys they'll tell you they wish they could start playing tomorrow, but from a coaching end we want to make sure everything's in place."
