HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg Zoo officials are hoping you will come up with a name for the newest animal attraction at the zoo. He's just arrived and he's a special friend of a popular bird already on exhibit.

He's a golden eagle and he joins "Nugget," another golden eagle that was just put on display three months ago.

Both were injured in their native California, and both were in the same rehabilitation facility before coming to the Hub City.

Now, the new eagle needs a name and beginning Saturday, you can suggest one by going online to www.hattiesburgzoo.com or tweeting a suggestion using #NameHattiesBird.

On Feb. 10, the public will then choose a winner from the list of names.

"They will be able to go online again at www.hattiesburgzoo.com  and vote for their favorite and then the winning name will be announced at the (Southern Miss vs.) UTEP game on Feb. 22," said Rick Taylor, executive director of the Hattiesburg Covention/Tourism Commissions. "And if folks want, if they're excited to see the named eagle, they can come on the Sunday following the UTEP game and bring their tickets from the game and get a dollar off admission here at the zoo," said Taylor.

Both eagles are on permanent loan to the zoo from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services.
