JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Friday Whole Foods Market opened its doors in Jackson for food fanatics to get a sneak peek of what the high end market will feature. From organic recipes and baking substitutes to protein powered fruits and vegetables, Whole Foods Market offers a unique variety, sure to please the taste buds of all its customers.

You are one of the first people to get a glimpse inside the more than 34 thousand square foot market that features one of a kind natural and organic goods, it's actually the leader in the industry.

"I loved it. I though it was great," said Diane Stewart. "I'm excited it's in Jackson and I look forward to Tuesday when it opens up so I can come shopping."

Marketing Team Leader Kevin Coogan says from organic salad bars to natural body care and fresh baked goods. the Whole Foods commitment is not only to partner with local vendors, but to offer a unique grocery experience with foods in the purest state.

"Here at Whole Foods you won't find anything in our store that contains artificial sweeteners, preservative, colorings, no corn syrup," said Coogan.

From olive and sushi bars to purchasing nuts and rare rice grains by the pound, Coogan says quality standards are behind every product in the store, including the featured Yazoo Bend Coffee and Taproom.

"We are going to have six taps here," said Coogan. "So people can come in and get fresh made pizza, burger, cut fries, something from our hot food bar and sit at the bar and have a cold beer right from the draft."

With a registered dietician in house to help you make your grocery list, elite markets can be a bit pricey, but Coogan assures customers, that is not the case.

"We also run sales on a daily, weekly basis. We have a Whole deal, a magazine you can find in the store that has coupons and really anybody can shop here at any budget," says Coogan.

"I think Jackson is going to love this," added Stewart. "What's not to love? It's great, whole food."

Whole Foods is located in Highland Village and it created more than 100 jobs for people in the metro area. The grand opening festivities will kick off at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
