AUBURN, AL (RNN) - Auburn scored the first 12 points of the game and never looked back, defeating archrival Alabama 74-55 to pick up its first conference win of the season.

The Tigers (9-9, 1-6 SEC) held the Crimson Tide (9-11, 3-4) to 22 points in the first half. Auburn's dominance continued in the second half, and led Alabama by as many as 19 points by the end of the game.

The Tigers held an advantage in field goal and free throw shooting, making 49 percent and 78.6 percent, respectively. The Tide scored 35.8 percent of its field goals and 70 percent from the free throw line. Alabama held a slight lead in 3-point shooting, making 18.8 percent to Auburn's 16.7 percent.

Chris Denson led the Tigers in scoring with a career-high 32 points. KT Harrell scored 23 points and led with 11 rebounds and two assists.

Trevor Releford led the Tide with 15 points. Rodney Cooper had seven rebounds, and Algie Key had two assists.

The game, which was postponed for one day due to a winter storm, snapped a six-game losing streak for Auburn, which hasn't won a game since Jan. 4. Alabama is now 0-5 on the road for the season.
