Crockett Police searching for Aggravated Robbery Suspect

CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) -

The Crockett Police need the public's help in identifying a suspect in an Aggravated Robbery case.

Clayton Smith said that around 12:30 p.m. on Jan.29, a suspect robbed the Hill Top Store in the 800 block of North Fourth Street.

Smith said the suspect used a gun and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the clerk.

"The suspect was described as a tall black male, with soft brown skin complexion wearing a brown hoodie with orange writing on the back," Smith said. "The writing on the back could possibly be a Horse Riding Club logo. [The suspect was also wearing] tan colored pants with a bright pink bandanna wrapped across his mouth.

Other agencies including the Houston County Sheriff's Office, DPS, Texas Parks & Wildlife Game Warden, Houston County Precinct 1 Constable and the Crockett Housing Authority all assisted with the initial search.

Crockett Police Department requested assistance from Houston County Sheriff's Office tracking K-9 in an attempt to track the suspect in a wooded area behind the store.  Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Sgt. Clayton Smith with the Crockett Police Department at 936-544-2021 or Crime Stoppers at 936-545-TIPS.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
