CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) - You would think ice and snow would keep people away the beach, but Wednesday, there were several people in Carolina Beach enjoying snow.

Many people drove out to Freeman Park, on the north end of Carolina Beach, to enjoy the white scenery the snow left behind. There was a jeep club out there hanging out along with others who were just at the beach taking pictures.

Richard Stamey and Scott Bryant found a way to entertain kids. They tied a rope to a golf cart, had people sit on a boogie board, hold onto a rope, and they dragged them up and down the street.

There were mostly locals out and about in Carolina Beach who said since they have the day off, it was the perfect opportunity to gather with neighbors. Many people said they know once the snow starts to melt, it will create extreme icy conditions, so Thursday they plan to stay home.
