HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Hattiesburg Police Officers responded to a shooting call near a Hattiesburg night club early Friday morning.

Authorities arrived at the parking lot of Taste Bar and Grill and found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound in the shoulder. The business was not open at the time of the shooting.

"We didn't find out until later on after we were cleaning up and left that there was a shooting that had happened back there in that parking lot between those two buildings late last night after the club had actually closed," said Malcolm Clark, owner of the business.

Officers spotted a vehicle fitting witness descriptions and followed it. According to authorities, the suspects ran a red light, and the police officers attempted to pull them over. The suspects fled, which resulted in a car chase.

The suspects stopped on Sullivan Killrain Road where one suspect was apprehended and the other fled on foot into a wooded area. The victim was transported to a local hospital, and is in stable condition.

Both suspects, Jyrick Sibley, 20, and Darrian Toney, 20, have been charged with aggravated assault, and Toney has also been charged with felony eluding.

The two suspects will have their initial appearances on Monday.
