Golden Corral in Hattiesburg holds official grand opening

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The new Golden Corral Buffet and Grill in Hattiesburg held their official grand opening with a ribbon cutting Thursday morning.

The restaurant is located in the old Ryan's building on Hwy. 98 West in front of Walmart. Members from the Area Development Partnership were on hand to welcome company executives and the management team and staff to the Hub City.

The restaurant employs about 140 full and part time staff. It can seat around 370 guests.

Restaurant co-owner Michael Canty says they have wanted to open in Hattiesburg for a long time and is looking forward to working for the community for years to come.

"What we always try to do is be a part of the community and giving back," said Canty. "We're going to do the same thing in Hattiesburg. Our management team lives here and has roots here. Our goal is to help out the community in anyway we can."|

Canty says their claim to fame is the variety of food they offer at their buffet and grill.
