COVINGTON COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from Covington County Schools

Teacher Academy students at the Covington County Technical Center in Collins have paired with an English class in Vratsa, Bulgaria as a component to a communication unit. The connection was made through People To People International's School and Classroom Program (www.ptpi.org). Throughout the school year students have communicated through various modalities including regular mail, email, Facebook, and Skype (video chat) to learn more about cultural and educational differences.

On January 15, 2014 students conducted a video chat through Skype to make their inquires face to face. During the video chat students asked questions about weather, famous people, accents, plants, talents, and geographical location.

The classes future plans in communication will be cooking together, crafting cultural crafts, and a cultural box that will include items significant to their way of life.
