GAINESVILLE, FL (RNN) - Florida picked up its 25th straight home win after soundly defeating Georgia 72-50 on Tuesday.

The No. 7 Gators (14-2, 3-0 SEC) and the Bulldogs (8-7, 2-1) played a close game for the first six minutes until Florida made several 3-pointers to gain a commanding lead. The Gators limited Georgia to 16 points in the first half while scoring 36 points.

Florida shot 46 percent from the paint and 42 percent from the 3-point line. Georgia shot 33 percent of its field goals and 3-pointers but made 71 percent of its free throws compared to the Gators' 55 percent.

Michael Frazier II led Florida with 21 points while Dorian Finney-Smith added 14. For Georgia, Juwan Parker led with 13 points and two steals while Marcus Thornton added 11 points. Thornton also led the Bulldogs with seven rebounds.

The game marked Georgia's first SEC loss of the season. Florida's 25th straight home game win made it the longest winning streak in the school's history.
