NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man is facing a money-laundering charge after being taken into custody at the airport on Monday.

According to the affidavit, Conor Guckian paid $20,000 in cash to charter a private jet from Nashville to California.

Someone became suspicious and called airport police.

Officer Jesse Pilote brought in a K-9 unit to sniff the money and say the dogs smelled drugs.

When Guckian showed up to catch his flight, the officer confronted the 33-year-old and asked to check the bag he was carrying.

Police say there was $153,000 in 32 bundles wrapped with rubber bands inside the bag.

Guckian told police he was taking the cash from New York to California to buy gold.

He was taken into custody and is being held on $10,000 bond.
