Petal woman hit and killed by car Friday night identified

PETAL, MS (WDAM) -

Authorities have identified a woman who was killed Friday night when she was struck by a vehicle on Highway 11 in Petal. The Forrest County Coroner said the victim was Elma Blanche Warren, 50, of Petal.

Police said she died when she was hit by a pick-up near the intersection of Highway 11 and City Barn Loop about 6:45 p.m.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was hurt and no one was charged.

Police said they are continuing to investigate the case as an accident.
