NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man accused of threatening a family at knifepoint and stealing from their apartment was arrested in Chicago, Metro police said Thursday.

Corey Taylor, 26, is awaiting return to Nashville on charges of aggravated kidnapping and robbery.

A 71-year-old man told police he met Taylor at a downtown bus station several weeks ago and allowed him to sleep on his family's couch at an apartment on Glenrose Avenue.

A fight broke out January 6, and the man said Taylor pulled a knife and threatened to kill him and his family.

Taylor stopped them from leaving the apartment, then finally stole several watches, a cell phone, money and a set of car keys, police said.

Taylor allegedly drove off in the victim's Chevrolet Malibu. Investigators said he has ties to Chicago, and alerted authorities in Illinois.

A Chicago police office spotted the car Wednesday night and took Taylor into custody without incident.
