Boil orders and advisories in the ArkLaTex

Following is a list of current boil advisories in the ArkLaTex. It is updated as information is provided to KSLA News 12 by the local water systems or city/town officials. Be sure to bookmark this page and check back for updates.

Thursday, Aug. 17

The Village Water System has issued a boil advisory in Haughton. The advisory includes all of the following streets: Woodland Circle, Randy Lane, Cindy Lane, Tall Timbers Blvd., Pine Lake Drive, Whispering Pine Drive, Short Leaf Drive and Pine Cone Drive. 

The advisory was issued after the water was turned off due to an emergency repair on the main line.

It will be in effect until further notice. 

A boil advisory has also been issued for residents in Sarepta after the main line ruptured. The advisory affects all customers on Smith Loop and Highway 82.

Officials say the water will be cut off from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday. 

The boil advisory is expected to last until Tuesday. 

Wednesday, Aug. 16

Plain Dealing Water System has issued a boil advisory for all customers. The advisory will remain in effect until further notice.

Tuesday, Aug. 8

Eagle Water System in Keithville has issued a boil advisory because of an area wide power outage, according to officials. 

The Sligo Water System has also issued a boil advisory that will be in effect over the next three days. The company says due to a break in the main line, water will be off for the next 3 hours while crews work to repair it. It will affect residents from Sligo Bridge to Haughton.

Thursday, Aug. 3

A boil advisory has been issued for a small area of Bossier City due to an unexpected water main rupture. The advisory is for residents and businesses along and south of Shed Road between Clarence Drive and Christy Street and north of East Texas Street. The advisory is a precautionary measure put in place until further notice.

Blockers Water System in Sarepta has issued a three-day boil advisory for its customers along Smith Loop and McCann Road. The advisory is because service was disrupted Aug. 3 to tie in a new line, said Charles Morgan, system president.


It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth or using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:

Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another or by adding a pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled).
