Southern Miss men's hoops team wants to defend home court

It's a good time to be fan of Southern Miss basketball as the men's team is 12-2 heading into their last non-conference regular season game of the year.

The Golden Eagles are unblemished in Hattiesburg with a 5-0 mark in the Coliseum and they look to defend the home court tomorrow against Drexel.

The Dragons are 8-4 with a 3-2 record on the road.

At the team's media luncheon this afternoon, senior guard Jerrold Brooks spoke about playing a tough opponent.

"That's a good team, I feel they play their basketball just like us. They want to speed the game up, turn teams over. They [have] a lot of good players over there."

Fellow senior Neil Watson feels that a win is crucial for the rest of the season.

"I think it's very important because not just going into conference, but for our record overall and for our RPI.

"We're going to try and keep the home streak we got going alive."

Tip-off against Drexel is set for 7 p.m.
