Woman dies after hit by car while crossing Wade Hampton Blvd.

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a Greenville woman after she was hit along Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greenville County.

Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kent Dill said Angela Bright, 55, was trying to cross the road near the intersection of Donnan Road around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, when she was struck by a vehicle.

Bright was taken to the hospital where she died in the emergency room, according to Dill.

The coroner's office reported that Bright was hit across the street from where she lived.

No charges have been filed in the case so far.

    There were two Rite Aid stores in the Pine Belt at the start of 2018; one in Petal and one in Hattiesburg. Now, only the Petal location remains open, but it will soon close its doors for good, too.
