JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Two people were taken to the hospital in Jones County Wednesday night with minor injuries after their car was overrun on Interstate-59 by a pick-up truck just seconds after another two-car accident occurred just a few feet away.

That wreck followed yet another one-car accident that happened just a few minutes earlier.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol said the sequence of events began when a Ford F-150 ran off the interstate and overturned around 5 p.m. near the 85 mile marker. The driver was not injured.

A few minutes later and a few yards away, two sedans collided, again, resulting in no injuries.

But, just a few seconds after that, a third wreck took place, when a half-ton pick-up ran on top of a Chevy Corvette, trapping the driver and passenger.

After they were extricated, they were sent to the hospital and fortunately, they were not seriously hurt.
