KNOXVILLE, TN (RNN) - The Tennessee Volunteers defeated the Virginia Cavaliers 87-52 Monday night.

The victory pushed the Volunteers to 8-4 and ends 2013 on a winning note.

Tennessee jumped on Virginia (9-4) early and never lost the lead throughout the contest, at times dominating by more than 25 points.

Guard Jordan McRae was Tennessee's leading scorer with 21 points, and forward Jarnell Stokes and guard Josh Richardson both scored 20 points.

Tennessee went 22-of-45 from the foul line and 11-of-18 from downtown.

The Volunteers will host the Tusculum Pioneers on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. ET.
