Laurel car wreck sends three to hospital, strikes a Burger King

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

A three car accident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. Monday on 16th ave in Laurel sending three people to a local hospital.

The incident happened on the roadway but one vehicle struck the corner of a local Burger King leaving an elderly woman temporarily trapped in the vehicle.

A Laurel Fire Dept crew quickly opened the car allowing paramedics to remove the woman from the car.

A witness inside the restaurant said, "It was so loud," "like a bomb had gone off,"

"Then we looked an there was a car sitting on the Burger King," said the witness.

"We didn't even notice the wreck in the road at first" said Kathleen Derby, a patron.
