Woman dies after being struck by vehicle

Posted: Updated:

IUKA, Miss. (AP) - An Iuka woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle in Tishomingo County while crossing Mississippi Highway 25 on foot.

County Coroner Mack Wilemon tells WTVA-TV in Tupelo (http://bit.ly/19PLKju ) that the victim has been identified as 51-year-old Debra Wilbanks.

Wilemon says Wilbanks had parked her vehicle on the northbound shoulder of the highway about one mile south of Iuka when she got out for some unknown reason.

Wilemon says the vehicle that struck her Thursday around 6 p.m. was heading south.
