Christmas came early for 45 families in Palmers Crossing.
Members of Jesse L. Brown Elks Lodge, with help from Christian Services and attorney Percy Watson, gave out free Christmas boxes in Palmers Crossing. The boxes included rice, non perishable canned food, flour, sugar, a frozen turkey, rolls and more.
"It's a great thing that we try to do for people that are not as fortunate and certainly at this time of the year it's always gratifying to know you can help somebody else in the community," said organizer Marshall Bell, a lodge member.
The Elks lodge has been doing this at Christmas for the past 30 years.
