Hattiesburg Fire Department provide Christmas for sick children
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -
Christmas was made a little merrier for some children at Forrest General Hospital and Wesley Medical Center Monday.
Several Hattiesburg Firemen stopped by the hospitals with toys and comforters for some of the sick children. In previous years the firemen have joined forces with the Salvation Army for the Angel Tree and Toys for Tots program. This years Angel Tree was a huge success allowing the firemen to be able to provide gifts for the children at the hospital.
"Throughout the years we have been able to grow into a pretty large operation to provide the kids a Christmas," said Battalion Chief Brady Ingram. "At this time we give back to the community to persons of need, maybe someone's house burnt down, or they are sick, or lost their job and can't provide a Christmas."
The Hattiesburg Fire Department has been involved with Toys for Tots since 1955.
