HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Palmers Crossing child who was hit by a vehicle while he was on his bicycle in September is finally walking again.
"It brings me great joy to see Jordan walking," said his Grandmother Linda Gilmore. "I look back from that day, from when that happened to now, my heart is just so blessed and thankful that God took care of him, to see him even just to get up."
After weeks of therapy, 7-year-old Jordan Gilmore walked into his school Friday morning only to receive several gifts. Along with donating several toys to The Children's Hospital in Jackson, Rowan Elementary School and its students also presented Jordan with various gifts.
Academy Sports and Outdoors also stopped by the school to talk to the students about bicycle safety and donated a helmet and reflectors to Jordan. To go along with his helmet, West Point Baptist Church donated a new bike to Jordan as well.
Jordan is scheduled to have surgery on December 26. His grandmother said she hopes he will be able to go back to school after his recovery.
