Perry County woman pleads guilty to manslaughter

PERRY COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Perry County woman plead guilty Monday morning to manslaughter charges from 2012.

Margaret Campbell appeared before circuit court Judge Robert Helfrich, saying she was guilty to killing her husband on Easter Sunday last year. Campbell left her 74-year-old husband's body to decompose for 10 weeks on the living room floor of their camper trailer, returning every other day to feed their animals.

Judge Helfrich sentenced Campbell to 20 years in prison with 10 years to serve and the remaining 10 suspended on five years post release supervision.
