HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The lights were bright and music loud for a very, merry Christmas at the Arc of Southeast Mississippi Sunday night.
"I'm very happy to be on stage with my friends," said Arc Showstoppers performer Michelle Ratcliff. "I love them very much."
A packed house welcomed the show choir to the stage for both performances over the weekend. The semi-annual event is a fundraiser for the Arc, but it is also a fun event for the performers as well as the community.
"Our primary goal for the show choir is where they can truly leave it all on stage," said Arc director Cindy Pennington. "It's about them having the opportunity that other individuals have… to be on stage."
Pennington said the group begins preparing for the show in September, and between the choreography to the silent auction to the dessert theatre, there is much to plan.
"There's just so much to make the total event," said Pennington. "It just shows what a family unit, what a good team, we have here at the Arc. Just a great feeling when everybody pulls together and you can pull something like this off."
