JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Carter Hankins threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns and also added a rushing touchdown, leading Forrest County AHS past Lafayette County 21-6 to win the Mississippi Class 4A state championship on Saturday afternoon.
It was the Aggies (13-2) first state championship in school history and also the school's first appearance in a state title game.
Corey Husband and Dontavian Lee both caught touchdown passes.
Ryan Holland kicked two fields - one from 37 yards and another for 21 yards - for Lafayette County (10-6), which was in the state championship game for the fourth time in five years.
Tyrell Price led the Commodores with 89 yards rushing on 13 carries.
