Dozens of children had breakfast with Santa Claus Saturday morning and it was all for a good cause.
For the seventh year, Krispy Kreme in Hattiesburg held its fun, family-friendly event. This year the donut shop decided to charge a $5 fee and donate 100 percent of the proceeds to Hattiesburg’s Homes of Hope for Children.
By participating, residents were able to enjoy face painting, a Krispy Kreme doughnut dipping station, a balloon artist and donuts and a picture with Santa. Krispy Kreme hopes the money raised can help many children in crisis.
“The money that we're raising will help these children experience the love of Christ in a loving kind of way that's really what it's all about,” said Hattiesburg Krispy Kreme Vice President, Billy Dorgan. “It's going to allow those kids to experience that and just be surrounded by that love that they just haven't ever received.”
Krispy Kreme hopes to raise about $1500 in the event alone for Hattiesburg Homes of Hope for Children.
