STILLWATER, OK (RNN) – The South Carolina Gamecocks were run out of the Midwest on Friday night, losing to the No. 9-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys 79-52.

The game was a part of the Big 12-SEC Challenge on the ESPN family of networks.

The Cowboys had five players score in double-digits, and their dominance began by holding the Gamecocks (2-3) to 15 points in the first half. The Gamecocks trailed by as many as 26 points in the game, showing the rust of not playing in nearly two weeks, since Nov. 24.

Guard Jaylen Shaw was the leading scorer for the Gamecocks with 13 points and five rebounds off the bench. Guard Tyrone Johnson scored 12 points in the loss for the Gamecocks.

South Carolina's low-scoring effort began on the floor, only going 15-of-45 in field goal attempts.

The Gamecocks have another long stretch until their next game, returning home to face the Manhattan Jaspers on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
