As the holiday shopping season kicks into high gear, our shopping malls and so called "big box stores" will no doubt be swamped. And, we hope they are. Crowded stores are a good sign of a bustling economy.
But, as you make your holiday shopping list this season, we also encourage you to remember small businesses. Small Business Saturday is observed on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It's a day when shoppers are encouraged to find local "mom and pop" type retailers where you can often find unique, local, one of a kind type gifts.
Small businesses are crucial to our local economy and we urge you to show them your support this Saturday and throughout the holiday season.
