COLLEGE STATION, TX (RNN) - After a fairly close first half, Texas A&M pulled away and never lost the lead in the second, soundly defeating Arkansas Pine Bluff 88-55.

The Aggies (6-0) scored 11 unanswered points with only a few minutes left in the first half. After the break they increased their lead to as many as 33 points over the Golden Lions (2-4).

Texas A&M made nine of its 15 3-pointers and almost 60 percent of its 47 field goals. Arkansas Pine Bluff made only six of its 20 3-pointers and 34 percent of its 62 field goals.

Jamal Jones led the Aggies with 18 points and three blocks.

Both teams are part of the Corpus Christi Challenge, which takes place Friday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, Nov. 30. This game had no effect on the upcoming tournament.

Texas A&M will take on Missouri State in the first round of the tournament on Friday.
