Lamar County Deputies search property at site of meth lab bust

LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Lamar County Deputies were back out at the home of Warren Lewis on Little Black Creek Road near Lumberton Tuesday executing a search warrant.

Lewis and six-others were arrested last week for running one of the largest crystal meth operations in the area. A Lamar County track hoe and bulldozer were visible on the back of the property digging, apparently looking for more drugs. Sheriff Danny Rigel said this afternoon an additional five-pound bag of meth valued at quarter of a million dollars was found on the property and more cash was seized bringing the total amount seized to $100,000.

All seven arrested are facing multiple charges ranging from sale of a controlled substance, intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance, and possession of firearms.

Friday, Justice Court Judge Bill Anderson set bond for six of the seven at $250,000 on each count. One of the charged had a prior felony and bond was withheld.
