Vols continue winning ways at home with victory over Tennessee State

KNOXVILLE, TN (RNN) – The Tennessee Volunteers continue to enjoy their winning ways at home, rolling over the Tennessee State Tigers 88-67 on Friday.

The Volunteers (3-1) are undefeated in Thompson-Boling Arena in 2013, and never lost the lead throughout the contest. Tennessee outscored the Tigers (0-6) 50-37 in the second half to seal their fate. The Volunteers also did not commit a turnover until less than five minutes remained in the first half.

Three Volunteers scored in double digits, including 25 points from senior guard Jordan McRae. Forward Jarnell Stockes added 16 points and eight rebounds to the Tennessee dominance.

Despite beating Tennessee at the free throw line (TSU was 24-of-26, compared to UT's 22-28), Tennessee State was abysmal from the floor, 24-of-46 and from 3-point range, 3-of-15.

The Volunteers will take on the University of Texas-El Paso Miners on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28.
