MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

There has been a rash of robberies at a Murfreesboro apartment complex, and college students seem to be the intended target. The latest victim is so shaken up he doesn't even want folks to know who he is.

Police released a photo of the latest victim, a Middle Tennessee State University student, which shows him withdrawing $500 from an ATM on Greenland Drive.

In the background of the photo is one of the suspects. Police are hoping this will help lead to the arrest of both the suspect in the photograph and his partner in crime.

"As long as these two are out there committing this type crime, it's dangerous," said Murfreesboro police spokesman Sgt. Kyle Evans.

The victim was in the parking lot of College Grove Apartments on Lascassas Pike Sunday night when he was approached by two men with guns. They robbed him of his cell phone, but he had no money in his wallet, so they forced him to drive to the ATM to get cash.

"Anyone who would brandish a weapon, approach college students in a well-populated area like this and then take such dangerous and criminal actions are people we want to get behind bars," Evans said.

Four days before this robbery, 18-year-old Dallas Fox also became a victim in the same apartment complex parking lot. Police believe the same men were responsible.

"They each had handguns, and they told me if I screamed or made any noise, I was dead," Fox said. "So I really didn't say anything. I put my hands up, and they said, 'Give me your purse and phone.'"

Fox complied with the gunmen, who got away with $100 cash. She was not hurt, but she's still shaken up about what happened.

"I was startled," Fox said. "I wasn't in tears, but I was startled. It shocked me, that's for sure."

The apartment complex has since taken some security precautions. The back gate is locked, so there is no more through-traffic, but that still may not be enough, according to residents.

Tenants, who are mostly students, said there is an officer who lives in the complex, but they are still worried about their safety.

"It's definitely cause for concern," said tenant Ben Egly. "I hope they catch them."

Fox said she has had enough and is planning on moving out.

"It definitely took me for a whirlwind. I refuse to go back in the dark by myself," Fox said.

Police said if you know who the suspects are, give them a call on the Crime Stoppers hotline at 615-893-STOP, or call Detective Tommy Massey in the Criminal Investigation Division at 615-893-2717.

You could receive up to $1,000 for clues that lead to an arrest.
