LEBANON, TN (WSMV) -

A Middle Tennessee radio reporter fell victim to a home invasion while he was sitting at home watching the local news.

He says he's fortunate nothing went wrong after he fought off the man who was inside his house.

Jack Flash has a familiar voice as the traffic reporter for Nashville's "Hippie Radio" 94.5 FM. He was working at his home studio Friday when he sat down to take a break.

"I was watching Channel 4 News at noon," he said.

Suddenly, he says, he saw something in his house move.

"I just kind of leaned up and looked over, and there's a guy standing in my kitchen," he said.

The intruder was rifling through a bag near the front of the house.

"I was like, 'Hey, man, what are you doing in my house?' And, snap, he was gone," Flash said.

Immediately, adrenaline kicked in, and he chased the man out the front door with a large stick.

"When he took off, all I could think was, 'Get him,'" Flash said.

He swung the stick at the intruder's car window, but the stick broke and the crook drove away.

"I'm glad I didn't grab my gun because I would've shot him," Flash said.

The robber managed to make off with a small coin purse, and the victim immediately reported the crime to the Wilson County Sheriff's Office.

He was also able to get a description and a license plate number of the suspect's vehicle, which is described as an older-model gold four-door, possibly a Ford Taurus, with license plate SYN-064.

If you have information that could help investigators, call the Wilson County Sheriff's Office.
