PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Outlets of Mississippi have been open for three days now, and record numbers keep spilling in.

The crowds have caused Pearl Police to add extra patrols, after two attempted shoplifting incidents.

The suspects didn't even make it out the door with merchandise. But they serve as a reminder for shoppers to be vigilant at all times especially during this holiday shopping season when crowds are heavy.

Since Thursday, more than 60,000 people have attended the outlets.

Pearl police had a special meeting with store managers about shoplifting, giving them some hints on what to look out for. They also stress safety to those holiday shoppers.

"People just need to watch their purses and stuff because if you leave your purse unattended anybody can walk up and take anything out of it. Just watch your merchandise make sure that you keep it in your hands at all time, and don't set it down somewhere and walk off," said Pearl Police Chief Ben Schuler.
