CACF offers grant of up to $100K to reduce River Region violence

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Central Alabama Community Foundation announced Thursday plans for a Violence Reduction Grant program for three counties.

The Community Foundation will provide a focus grant of up to $100,000 to a local non-profit organization that is working to address the root-causes of violence in Montgomery, Macon and Lowdnes counties.

CACF officials say this is the largest focus grant it has ever offered.

With the new grant, CACF wants to boost practical ideas that can help curb long-term causes of violence as well as create a healthier environment for families.
