Elba woman charged with shooting boyfriend

ELBA, AL (WSFA) -

Elba police say a woman was arrested Tuesday and charged with shooting her boyfriend.

Police say Brenda Francis, 39, and her boyfriend, Anthony Childs, 45, live together on North Claxton Avenue in Elba.

Officers responded to the residence at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of someone being shot. Officers discovered Childs had been shot in the leg. He was transported to the Medical Center Enterprise. His injuries appear to be non-life-threatening, according to police.

Francis has been charged with domestic violence 2nd degree and booked in the Coffee County Jail.
