Columbia and Marion County commemorate Veterans Day with special guests

Columbia and Marion County united to commemorate Veterans Day on the courthouse lawn.

Senator Roger Wicker and Congressman Steven Palazzo joined the community, and expressed their thanks for the service and sacrifice of the veterans.

A large crowd of people both young and old gathered at the 11 a.m. ceremony as local, state, and nation leaders expressed their appreciation. Local school children sang service anthems and greeted veterans.

The event culminated with the Veterans Day wreath being carried to the memorial on the courthouse grounds.
