MACON, GA (WALB) -

The Golden Rams overcame a 10-0 deficit to defeat Fort Valley State 19-10 Saturday afternoon. The win advances the team to the SIAC Championship game next weekend in Atlanta against Miles College.

"what a great second half, we knew had to play four quarters," said head coach Mike White. "I know you say that enough but our team hung in there."

A 42- yard touchdown pass from Frank Rivers to Jesse Adkins gave ASU its first lead at 12-10. A 63-yard touchdown pass from Rivers to Adrian Alexander put the game away. For Rivers, the motivation was extending the season for another week.

"We realized the championship was on the line," Rivers said. "So we had to either fight or go home."

The Golden Rams fell to Miles College 22-14 earlier this season.
