Two-car accident in Collins kills two, victims names released

A two-car accident Thursday afternoon killed two-people and sent two-others to the hospital.

The accident happened around 4 p.m. on Hwy 84 about a mile west of Collins. A car with Lawrence County plates was traveling east when another vehicle from Covington County pulled out in front of it while attempting to cross the highway. The cars collided and both ending up in the median.

The driver Daniel Berry, 40, of Prentiss and passenger Curtis Armstrong, 55, also of Prentiss in the Lawrence county car died at the scene.

The driver of the other car Timothy Buckley, 19, of Bassfield was airlifted to Forrest General while the passenger Janequa Gage, 20, of Mount Olive was taken by ambulance. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
