Southern Miss travels to Ruston Saturday to face off against Louisiana Tech for the 45th time in school history.
These two teams last met back in September 2011, when the Golden Eagles defeated the Bulldogs 19-17 during a rainy night in Hattiesburg.
The Black and Gold are riding a 20-game losing streak while the Bulldogs are looking to get above .500 in Conference USA play.
Head coach Todd Monken spoke about the challenges that LA Tech presents on the gridiron.
"Well they play hard. They don't give up a lot of big plays when you watch them play," Monken said at the team's weekly press conference.
"The sign of a good team is when they look like they enjoy playing for each other with attitude and energy and body language and you see that. You see guys flying around the ball."
Louisiana Tech is ranked seventh in Conference USA in total offense and total defense.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
