The ex-husband of an East Texas native who was found dead last week was discovered dead after officials say he overdosed on drugs.

Palm Beach Sheriff's officials say Albert Lambert, the ex-husband of East Texas native Kimberly Lindsey, was pronounced dead after Lambert's sister and her boyfriend were seen carrying Lambert's body from the sisters home wrapped up in a bed sheet.

According to Palm Beach Sheriff's officials, authorities had set up 24-hour surveillance on Lambert following the discovery of Lindsey's body. Authorities say the officials that were watching Lambert saw Lambert's sister and her boyfriend carrying the body and innerved.

The Palm Beach Sheriff said in a press conference Sunday, "There is no doubt that he was the suspect that committed this crime." The sheriff also added that the suspects clothing did have blood on it, that matched the DNA of Kimberly Lindsey. The sheriff later added that this was a "violent confrontation with a good amount of blood."

Authorities added later that they were planning on charging Lambert with first degree murder, and that they are not sure what he overdosed on.

The Florida State Attorney who spoke briefly at the press conference added, "this was a brutal murder."

The body of Kimberly Lindsey, originally from Jacksonville, Texas, was discovered by a group of men working in a sugar cane field Wednesday morning. This case was originally reported as a missing person, but turned into a homicide investigation when the body was discovered.

We are continuing to follow the latest developments in this case and will have the very latest posted on KLTV.com
